Raise Community Awareness

Each year we train teens to make a difference in their communities by helping to end teen relationship abuse. Last year our Relationship Abuse Prevention Program (RAPP) leaders reached out to teach people of all ages about relationship abuse at fairs, in clubs, at parties and in their schools.

RAPP leaders reach out to their friends by participating in:

  • V-Day: a worldwide effort to raise money and awareness to end the abuse of women.
  • New York Teen Violence Prevention Week: where they lead workshops for teens. May 21st is the second annual NYC Healthy Teen Relationship Conference. See our save the date flier here:  save the date pdf
  • Day of Silence: to raise awareness about homophobia and other LGBTQ issues.
  • Citywide Central Park Field Day: where they meet other teen leaders working to end teen relationship abuse.
  • Annual Relationship Abuse Prevention Poster Contest: where thousands of students enter to have their design featured on a t-shirt or calendar and win cash prizes.

This December 8 you can help bring teen relationship abuse prevention programs to your school and every school. It’s Time to Talk Day is the right time to let your elected officials know that too many teens are hurt or killed by teen relationship abuse and that it’s time to stop it with education, support and teen leadership.

Join with the Center Against Domestic Violence’s RAPP Teens. End relationship abuse today!
